Well the news from the Port Bay area of Lake
Ontario is that the brown trout fishing has never
been better. With heavy South and Northeast winds
the shoreline of the lake is still 46-50.0 degrees
We are still seeing plenty of bait fish around the
shore. The fish are still in a comfort zone. Try
working the 5-20' range, We have been using spoons
but I'm sure that stick baits will work.
For people without a boat, work the piers or any
creek bed that flows out to the lake.
There is still salmon action in the deeper water.
100-200' range king salmon are still being caught
everyday. Along with Steelheads and rainbow trout.
loud colors, "flouresent orange and red" from your
planner boards.
And remember with the Holiday weekend approaching
leave room in the boat for the wife and children.
they'll be glad you did.
Good Luck,
Capt. Frank and Charles DeNoto
