Due to the Northeast winds that have been hitting the shoreline of our region, the salmon fishing has been put on hold with only a few salmon and trout being taken. The water temperature is so twisted around that we have been fishing 20'-40' down. The surface temp. is anywhere from 60.0 to 53.0 degrees. there is no set thermocline to work, and the baitfish have been scarce.
NOAA weather service has predicted more south and northeast winds for the next few days, which means more
cold water. Hopefully the winds will switch back to Northwest and help build up a strike zone again. Also the smallmouth bass fishing has been shut down with the serge of cold water. Some bass were floating on the surface in shock. Try fishing the bays, to catch the smallmouth bass. Good Luck.
