June 12th 2000.
The brown trout fishing has slowed down from what
it had been in the past 4 or 5 weeks. There are still
nice catches of browns to be had, but you have to work
harder to catch them. there is still alot of bait fish
in front of Port Bay, in 10 - 125 feet of water. So
spoons are working best, in the deeper water I haven't
heard of many steelhead being taken, a few lake trout
and not much for king salmon. The surface temp. is about 55.0 degrees. the smallmouth bass season opens
this Saturday, and we have been catching some nice bass
while trying to get some browns. With school almost done for the season, I know that the kids would love to
come out to lake ontario and have a great day of fishing with their hero, so take them out for some great memories.
good luck.
