Well it's the holiday weekend, while were trolling
the lake in search of trout & salmon the shoreline was
full of jet-ski's and speed boats! In the Port Bay area
of lake ontario, the guides are still catching brown trout. We took 12 nice fish in 60' of water, from 31' to 45' down all on Northern King spoons, which happens
to be the size alewives in the stomachs. The offshore
fishing in our region is still slow, in a week or two the thermalcline should be set up and the fish should be gathering around the target zone. The smallmouth fishery is starting to take hold, with minnows still being the best bait, until the moss rolls off and the
crawfish will be the prefered bait. Well go out there
and have a safe and enjoyful holiday weekend and catch
some nice fish.
