February 15th,2001. The ice fishing off of Port Bay
has been good this season. With the early ice there
has been many fishermen visiting our bay. Perch have
been on the bite. You have to sort them out, there
are plenty of medium to large size fish taken off the
points {fishing from the west side, there is Thompkins
point and Graves Point} and if you park at the south
end of Port Bay, from the state launch, there is good
crappie fishing. I haven't heard of any pike or brown
trout taken.
With the partial thaw that has been for the past few
days, Furnace Creek is flowing pretty high and wide,
but I haven't seen anybody working the area.
I will report the action as soon as I see fishermen
working the flow.
Happy fishing...remember take the kids along to share
the moment!!!!
Capt. Frank
