: Coming from North Carolina in Spring... late April or Early May what's the best bet? Fairhaven Bay or Polaski? What depth, what lure to start? What boat speed? I'm told that speed over 2mi/hr too fast for browns? I can go all day at 2/3, but not less than 2.

Hi Henry,
Every year we head to Lake Ontario the same week. This year it is April 27th - May 9th. That is the Spring LOC Derby Week and it is a lot of fun.
Over 20,000 dollars in Prize money every year given away. We always go out of Sodus Point Bay where the fishing is always very good that week.
We hit the Steelhead and Coho pretty hard every year and we always catch several browns early in the morning going up the shorelines. We fish around 3 MPH never less and we always use a multitude of colors but usually FIRE RED and ORANGE are the big hitters. Last year we placed 9th in the Steelhead overall. Hey good luck and if you get up here that weekend give us a shout on the Radio usually on 68 just ask for the Porcupine. Team Porcupine OUT>> "Even when the fishing is good, we are still pricks"
