The Fourth of July didn't pack much punch for the
sportfishing off of Port Bay. With a Southwest breeze
most of the morning, the lake is turned up. I fished
the deep water 500' plus offshore. The surface temperature was 52.0 degrees. We caught 5 rainbows,
releasing 2 of them, and had 3 other releases. There
is no sign of bait out there. The Rainbows that we kept
had flies in their digestive tract.
The water temperature in 150' of water is 55.0 degrees
down 135' of cable, the south wind should start to raise the temperature.
But one last thing to show you, attached will be a photo of a 21 lb. brown trout. Taken by John Romanski
of East Stroudsburg, PA. This is why we all fish so hard!!!!!!
Good Luck fishing,
Capt. Frank and Charlie DeNoto
