: July 12th, 2000. This week off of Port Bay salmon : have started to show up. today we took two salmon, 15- : 19 lbs. and released one other salmon. {chinooks}. and : speaking to other fishermen, who have boated kings ranging from 15-33lbs. Northern King spoons have been the selection so far. The alewifes in their stomachs : match the same size as these spoons. As reported in the : newspaper, there seems to be more schools of bait fish. : This should help produce bigger fish. We are still taking nice brown trout everyday. Not much as far as lake trout, or steelheads. : For the bass fishermen, the lake is starting to turn over cleaning the moss off the bottom of the lake. : And the bass are showing up with plenty of crawfish in : the stomachs. for the best action, 20-30' either east or west from our Port. And jigging for perch has been : productive in 5-6' of water. : Keep one thing in mind when running out to your favorite fishing grounds, there has been alot of floating debree in the lake so watch where your driving : Capt.
