Here is the latest report from Port Bay, Lake Ontario.
We had an upwelling last week which kept plenty of anglers fishing the 40-80' range with brown trout action to be had. There were plenty of stocked browns about 1 lb. taken, with care you could release them for the future. Offshore there has been some chinook salmon taken, 12-25 lbs. Some taken on cut-bait, flashers and fly, and northern king spoons. from 60-135' down. The water-flea has shown up heavy. Use of fleaflicker line or heavy 30-40 lb. test seems to help.
Smallmouth bass action has been good, crawfish and minnows are the best for action so far. The bass have been from 6-35' anywhere along the Port Bay-Fair Haven
and Sodus Point shoreline, the last North/West blow has seem to taken the moss off the bottom.
With summertime in the final month or so, take the family out for a fun filled weekend along the Great Lake Ontario !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
